Ok, so it's been quite a while since I wrote and I need to fill in some blanks. I got the 150 up and running and it was awesome. WAS. Then I moved. Had to break down the tank, empty the contents into a smaller tank, store the live rock and most of the equipment, and move the monster again. I wound up giving my mom the 55 gallon I had and setting her up with a salt water set-up in 55 gallon. That is in New Jersey.

I now live in Maine. In the process of moving the top of my 150 was cracked. I just moved from the house I was renting in Vassalboro, Maine to Augusta and when I did I was unable to take the 150....due to a lack of interested persons to help me. I left it for the new tennants.

Next week I am getting a 110 high, which I am really excited about. It is comming with just about everything. Here are the specs on my set-up.

*110 X-High Tank, Hood, Dual Flourescent light, Wooden stand
*red sea prizm deluxe protein skimmer with surface skimmer
*emporer 400 filter
*using the wetdry as a multi purpose refugium by eliminating the previous bio balls and using live rock in their place
*300 watt stainless submersable heater with out of tank heating unit/controller, and thermostat that places in aquarium
*2 powerheads (250 GPH roughly, nothing crazy, but definately pushes water)

I plan on using sandbox sand as a base again. It seemed to really work well and was cheap!! I don't know that I'll need too much because of the amount of live sand I am using. I am adding +/- 100 lbs live sand to it, which is being harvested out of an already established tank.

I am also setting up a 20 gallon quarantine tank, which I never did before. I am trying to play by the rules a little more this time.

My first few tank inhabitants will include some damsels (stop cringing), a serpent star, sand sifting star, and of coarse hermits, snails, and maybe a crab. I am not going to rush into any anenomes. I would like to find a paired anenome and Percula and add them together. I am going to get into some soft corals. Low light of coarse since I have not interest in metal halides or getting too crazy into lighting. I'd rather spend the money on fish.

So those are my big plans. For me, this is better than and drug ever could be!!

Bought sand box sand for the salt tank as a substrate and also pea stone gravel for the 55 and as a layer under the sand for the salt tank. Was told on www.tropicalfishonline.net that this has been dopne before successfully. Saved myself a boatload of money since a 50lb bag of sand costs $3 but a 20lb bag of crushed coral costs $30. You do the math!!

Tom stopped by and I pleaded with him to help me lift the terrarium onto the bottom of the stand and put the 55 gal tank onto the top of the stand. Only problem is when we did that, there is not enough clearance to fit a light on top of the terrarium, so they are in the dark for now. Also, we slid the terrarium in from the rear which means I can not pull the tank out to clean it. I filled both the 55 and the 150 today with water. Let's hope no repeats of the living room fiasco.

Picked up tanks today!! What a friggin ordeal. I drove Mom-mom and I in her van to go get them. We loaded them and then headed back home. She dropped the van off while she went to dinner and Mike, Carol and I moved the sucker in!! Sucker being the retardly big 150 gallon tank and stand. That friggin thing weighs a ton!!

I rearranged the living room today!! Making room for the monstrous tank. I moved the entertainment center againstt he wall I share with the other entry way, so that the tank will go on the hall wall that the TV was on. I moved the terrarium and stand into the hallway, and put it to the right side of Alexys' bedroom door. I moved the little round table out on to the proch.

I won a 150 gallon fish tank today from a guy in northern New Jersey on Ebay. I am also going to be pickign up a 55 gallon tank with everything included. Total price for both is $325. I don't think that's too bad considering all that I am getting. Now I have the fun job of figuring out how to get them to my house and get them into my house and where to put them. I want the 150 to be salt and in my living room. I want the 55 to go on top of the stand I already have for the terrarium and into the hallway. Talk about some major redecorating and furniture moving!!
